The Diamonds at the Movies

The Diamonds were first summoned to Hollywood in 1957 to sing two songs 'live' for the movie "The Big Beat" - also featuring Fats Domino, The Del-Vikings, etc. The group sang its 1957 smash "Little Darlin'" in addition to the medium beat ballad "Where Mary Go"

In 1958 they were back in the studios recording the themesong to the 1958 movie "Kathy-O" - this was also the first time a string section had been used to back The Diamonds vocals.

In 1962 the Diamonds (Jim Malone, Mike Douglas, Evan Fisher, John Felten) went back to Hollywood to record the theme for the military comedy "The Horizontal Lieutenant" The song was recorded a number of times - the movie version being somewhat different to the official release.

The 1972 movie "American Graffiti" featured "Little Darlin'" and "The Stroll" - one scene shows a high school gym with everyone "strolling".
